U.S. airstrike kills Al-Qaeda militant in Libya

The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) said that it had killed one of the militants of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) in an air strike southeast of the Libyan town of Bani Walid. In a statement issued last Thursday, the AFRICOM said it was still evaluating the results of the strike, which was aimed at disrupting AQIM and immobilizing it, clarifying that the strike took place on June 13 without revealing the identity of the target person.
