RSF assassinate five civilians, destroy university college in Dinder

The Al-Dinder Emergency Room in Sennar state, southeast Sudan, said that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) destroyed a university college, assassinated five civilians, and injured dozens during their attack on the surrounding villages.

By the end of June, the RSF took control of Dinder, but the army was able to regain control before losing it again after fierce battles, causing most of the city’s residents to flee to their villages and the neighbouring Gedaref state in eastern Sudan.

The Dinder Emergency Chamber, a group of volunteer professionals and activists, in a statement received by “Sudan Tribune”, said that “the RSF militia killed three civilians from the village of Bayda and two dignitaries from the village of Habuya in the western countryside of Dinder.”

The statement also pointed out that the paramilitary forces destroyed the College of Veterinary Medicine affiliated with the University of Sennar, located east of the Dinder River Bridge, “but also engaged in widespread looting and pillaging across the villages of Abu Hashem, Um Dahir, Tukumbari, Bayda, and Al-Bardana. “

The local volunteer group stressed that that the RSF’s ongoing campaign of violence, marked by the invasion of peaceful villages, terrorising and killing of residents, and forced displacement of those remaining, clearly demonstrates that this is a war waged against civilians, not the army.

It is noteworthy that the paramilitary forces invaded villages east, south, and west of the city, killing and injuring dozens of people.

The Sudanese Air Force launched an airstrike on Monday morning on the village of Kamrab, which eyewitnesses say is home to dozens of RSF elements and their aides.
