On Monday, 20 November, candidate Seth Kikuni announced his withdrawal from the December 2023 presidential election in favour of the candidacy of Moses Katumbi.
In a statement issued on the same day on his twitter account, candidate No. 11 justified his decision by “the concern to follow up on the call and example shown by candidate President Matata Ponyo on the need to transcend political egos and remain in the quest for the best interests of the nation.”
For him, his rally and that of his party “Track for Emergence” to the candidacy of Moses Katumbi “as the sole opposition candidate in the presidential election of 20 December 2023 is the best way to block the way to fraud and obtain change.”
In addition, Seth Kikuni invited all other candidates from “opposition and resistance to join this dynamic.”
This new withdrawal among the presidential candidates of the Republic comes less than 24 hours after that of Augustin Matata Ponyo.
